It seems that the GameStop in Tuscaloosa is featuring an alternate cover for NCAA Football 11.

I took a blogging hiatus for the past month or so. Apparently, this made my one blog reader upset at me (thanks for reading Laran). I wish I could over-spiritualize my absence by saying that I was on some sort of “cyber fast”, but that would be a lie. I guess I’ve just been really busy with “life”. Here are the high points from the start of a great year:
- Celebrated 4 wonderful years of marriage with my beautiful wife, Jaime. I thought we were going to have to celebrate apart from each other. But, thanks to the threat of snow in Atlanta, my seminary course ended a day early and I made it home in time to watch Alabama win the National Championship with Jaime and Avery. I know…how romantic, right? Avery has never witnessed an Alabama loss.
- As mentioned above, Alabama won their 13th National Championship by beating Texas in The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. What a great anniversary present! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!
- Avery celebrated her 1st birthday on January 20th. I can’t begin to describe the joy that this child has brought to our lives. It’s so hard to believe that she is a year old now. We celebrated her first birthday party at New York Pizza in Homewood with family and friends. We love you Avery!
What a great month! I’ll try to update on a more regular basis.

Someone sent me the following video after seeing my picture show up in it…
and, another friend sent me a link to an Auburn website where my photo was the background on the website’s homepage…
Gotta love the internet. Roll Tide.

MARK INGRAM WON THE 75TH HEISMAN TROPHY! Those words still don’t seem real. Jaime and I cried tears of joy as Ingram accepted Alabama’s first Heisman Trophy (Insert Tim Tebow joke here). I’ve never been prouder to be an Alabama fan! The only thing that could make this better would be a win over Texas on January 7th in the BCS National Championship Game. Roll Tide Roll!

If you don’t want goose bumps, don’t watch the following video!
Almost as good as being there! Roll Tide Roll! See you in Pasadena!

Check out the guy at about the 1:00 minute mark…
I should note that I had nothing to do with putting this video together. I think I’ll start charging royalties for the use of my image. Head over to Google Images and type “Bear Bryant Tattoo” and check out the first picture that comes up.
Can’t wait to see where it pops up next…

Whew! My heart has just now started beating at a normal pace. As much as I hate dislike Auburn, I have to give them some credit. The Tigers played an outstanding game and shutdown Hesiman candidate, Mark Ingram. I guess there is something to that SI Jinx (see post below). I predicted that the Tigers would start with a lot of intensity and emotion and boy was I right! Even after the Tide went down 14-0, I wasn’t too worried. However, after being down most of the game, I felt as if I could puke up my Thanksgiving meal(s). You can tell yourself that the Iron Bowl is only a game, but if you live in the state of Alabama, it is so much more.
End the end, the Tide (and a steady dose of Julio Jones) orchestrated a beautiful drive and scored on a TD pass from McElroy to Upchurch to seal the deal. Bama is 12-0 and will play for the SEC Title next week in Atlanta.
Roll Tide Roll!

Sports Illustrated knows that when Bama is on the cover, magazines sell. Jinx or no jinx, it’s still cool in my book! RTR!

The 2009 SEC Championship Game has the potential to be the biggest college football game of this decade. Alabama and Florida are arguably the two best teams in the nation. Both teams will likely be undefeated on December 5th. The National Championship and the Heisman Trophy will most likely be on the line. I am so excited to have tickets! I just hope the outcome is better than last year’s. Roll Tide!
