I’ve become a little obsessed with a website called XtraNormal.com. I used it to make the Breakaway Announcement video from an earlier post.
This year at Beach Breakaway, I used a combination of iMovie and XtraNormal.com to create our morning announcements. Here are the first three installments of the “Fenton Morning News”…

Invisible Children
During the month of October, the Dawson students are recognizing mission projects in the U.S. and abroad. This past Wednesday, Travis, from Invisible Children visited “The Underground” and discussed the injustice going on in Uganda. Our high school and middle school students combined and were presented the story of a girl named Roseline (preview below)…
It was a very powerful video, moving several of our students to tears. The students were given a chance to respond in prayer and by signing citizen arrest warrants to arrest Joseph Kony.

Middle School Retreat ’09
The Middle School Fall Retreat occurred last weekend (Oct 2-4) and it was awesome! We carried about 85 students and leaders to Camp Dawson for this annual Fall tradition. Our speaker for the weekend was Ryan Warren, our camp pastor from Fuge. Ryan did a great job delivering the Word and he really challenged both our students and our leaders. Matt Evans, a friend of mine from seminary, led our worship. Matt and his band were phenomenal. I’m blessed to call both Ryan and Matt friends and partners in ministry. Dawson has an outstanding group of middle school students!
