When I think of cheesy Contemporary Christian Music artists of the ’90s, Ray Boltz’s name sits near the top of my list. Some of Boltz’s hits include, “Thank You”, “The Anchor Holds”, and “I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb”. I can still picture his beautiful mullet blowing in the wind in everyone of his music videos. I want to say that I saw him perform live at some event but I can’t remember where or when.
What disturbs me about this news, is not so much that he admits his homosexuality (we all our sinners), but that he seems to have accepted this lifestyle as acceptable in the eyes of God. He is quoted in the article above saying that he doesn’t want to get into debates about Scripture. He has found a church group of people who take the Bible and highlight what they like, and throw away the rest.
I’m in no position to judge Ray Boltz. This news makes me realize, yet again, that there are so many warped views of the truth that is found in God’s Word.
